VLP Physical Building:
The
building's foundation was imbedded in the naturally solid rocky grounds,
the very first part; (bottom Studio, Water Tank and Swimming Pool) were
constructed with 8" concrete blocks, filled with concrete
and steel rods in most part of it, the pool on the other hand has
its own solid foundation, its walls were built with a double layer
of 8" blocks completely filled with concrete and steel
rods except for the part that divides the pool from the tank in witch
case a tough triple layer was used, the pool is ceramic tiled.
On the upper floors we used 6" blocks filled with concrete and
steel in every relevant part of the walls.
All floors were casted with steel reinforced concrete.
We used treated wood through the building.
The roof is made out of 2x6 and 2x8 treated wooden boards covered by
external grade plywood sheets witch in turn were covered with
a layer of an insulation material that is covered by the final layer of
wallaba wood shingles raised by 1x3 wood strips.
Under the roof we have added a nice pickled tong and groove
style layer of treated wood witch provide -in addition to the good
esthetics- a lower level of
rain noise and much cooler rooms.
